I'm sure I've seen somewhere a list of Children's Homes in London but now I can't find it. :o

Can anyone give me a link to anything similar or have I imagined it?

I'm looking for a Catholic Children's Home possibly in the Paddington area circa 1930.

Many thanks

This isn't exactly what you want, but if you do a word search for Paddington within the following page you will find a few Catholic establishments:

But they are in 1901.

I expect someone will come along with something better - I just thought of the Jeff Knagg's site straight away!

I don't think that's the list I had seen before but it's been of great help! I've just Googled "The Orphanage of Mercy, Paddington" and have come up with some useful links.

Thanks, Merry

The Catholic Children's Society is worth trying. Here's a link to their timeline from 1850 which gives details about when various homes opened.
