Elizabeth, Have you ever been to the Quaker library at Friends' House, Euston Road, London?

https://www.quaker.org.uk/contact-library

(my grandfather worked with the man who designed Friends' House, Hubert Lidbetter!)

I have obtained a lot of useful info on my Qukers from them, including many biographies of quite ordinary people. Very useful! Apologies if I've mentioned this before :o

Merry, to my shame I haven't - it's on my "to do" list for the autumn.

I have been very lazy with the Quaker research because another Jeffcoat descendant, a good friend of my Mum's, did the research himself. He used to give family history lessons!

However, I need to go. Also, it's only 30 minutes to St Pancras from here and it is a very easy trip for me.

If I haven't been by November, please nag me!:D

lol - You used to have to take a letter of recommendation signed by someone of standing in the community! I'm not sure if that's in case you might steal/deliberately damage a document?
