Emma Cooling was buried 21 July 1886 at St Paul, Alverthorpe, Wakefield aged 9.

I cannot find Emma on the 1881 census, or a baptism for her but know she must be related to me somewhere.

I have found her birth registration - JAS 1876 in Wakefield.

Can anyone find her in 1881?

Thanks for looking.

Okay, there is a Rosetta Cooling who possibly marries Charles Walter Walker in Wakefield district Oct-Dec 1876, and there is this household in 1881 at Alverthorpe:

Charles W Walker Head Mar 26 Cart Driver Yorkshire Alverthorpe
Rosetta Do Wife Mar 25 Drawer - Woollen Mill Do Do
Emma Do Daur 4 Scholar
Anne E Do Daur 3m Do Do

Hmm, looking at the West Yorkshire marriages on ancestry, the banns were published 28th May, 4th and 11th June 1876 and then again in October (at Alverthorpe St Paul).

And there is a baptism for Emma Walker, daughter of Charles and Rosetta, 2 Sep 1877 at Alverthorpe St Paul.

And in 1891 their eldest child is Annie E age 13 (just thought I'd better check!)

Thanks Kate, I went through all my Cooling families to try and see where she would fit, but didn't think to look at married Cooling ladies.

Certainly a distinct possibility.
