Ann Brown married George Fisher in 1792 at Acton, Cheshire. He was a merchant of Manchester & she of the parish.

They had 3 sons baptised at Acton, Edward 1794, John 1797 & Thomas 1798. I *think* they had 2 further children who were baptised at Malpas, Samuel 1801 & Ann 1803.

On FMP I have found a will of an Ann Fisher, a widow of Acton, Cheshire.

She names the following relations

Her daughter Ann Brown Fisher
Brother William Brown of Cholmondeston & his daughter Anna Maria Brown
Sister Sarah, wife of John Foster, a broker of Manchester & their daughter Anna Maria, wife of Joseph Downes, a hatter of Manchester.

She also refers to land at Cholmondeston & her dear deceased mother's will, tho i've no idea what she was called!

The will is dated April 1807 & was proved June 1807.

FMP have her burial, Ann Fisher, widow of Acton 21/5/1807 Acton.

I did previously have her burial pecilled in as 6/2/1811 at Malpas, Ann wife of George Fisher of Bickley.

I can't find any info on her brother & sisters, I have found a burial of her daughter, Ann Brown Fisher on FMP. Ann Brown Fisher of Cholmondeston buried at Acton 30/4/1819 aged 18. So was born ca1801 which is 2 years before the Ann in top of my post.

So is this my Ann Fisher's will? If it is why does she not mention her sons who were all alive when she made the will.

I'm trying to find a will for the 'dear deceased mother', but with a name or date i'm failing fast!

Grateful for input.

Thanks

The bit that bothers me is, in the 1807 will, was there any indication that the daughter, Ann Brown Fisher, was a child?

Just had a quick read again, she was under 21 ... in trust for my dear daughter Ann Brown Fisher to aid her education & bringing up until she arrives at the age of 21 years or the day of her marriage.

I've been having a look on FMP think i've found the parents of Ann(e), William & Sarah. They were all baptised at Acton 1765, 1770 & 1767, parents Joseph & Elizabeth of Cholmondeston, there's a few other children too.

Possible burials for Joseph & Elizabeth at Acton both 1795. Can't see a will for either of them tho on the Cheshire wills!

So this George & Ann can't be the same George & Ann having kids in Acton, since son John was baptised 28/2/1797!

So there's either 2 George Fisher & Ann Brown's or i've got the wrong marriage for my George & Ann

So the will isn't for your Ann? Do you have a burial for your George?

Sorry, we cross posted.

I assumed the will isn't for your Ann because hopefully she wouldn't have had two living daughters called Ann?

Yes I don't think the will is for my Ann, not sure if the marriage is right either now.

No, I don't have a burial for George yet. If Ann's burial that i'd already found is correct then George was still alive in 1811 when she was buried, Feb 6 1811, Anne wife of George Fisher of Bickley.

Does your George have an occupaton at the baps for his children?

There's a George Fisher to Ann Wright marriage at Wrenbury in 1793 (FS). Only about 5 miles from Acton.

No occupations on any of the baptisms.

I've just spotted that marriage too Merry, thanks.

Think I must of seen it before & discounted it since the Acton marriage seemed to tie with the Acton baptisms, just shows you!

Now it makes sense that the merchant took his new bride to Manchester and after his death she returned to her family in Acton!

Yes that would make sense Merry.

I'm happy that George Fisher & Ann Brown aren't my couple after all & neither is the will of Ann Fisher.

I think it's helped putting the info down here instead of it floating round in my head, having numerous FMP, Familysearch etc webpages open & you finding Ann Brown Fisher's baptism!

I'm fairly happy with the burial i'd orginially found for Ann in 1811, Bickley is where they were living in 1803 & is also where son Thomas was living when he married in 1825. Although I was fairly happy i'd found the right marriage for George & Ann lol

Need to find George's burial & see what happened to daughter Ann.
