oooo lookeee!!!

HO107 1813 folio 419 p9
On this 1851 census in Cratfield, Suffolk there is a Mary Bullock (b 1786 Metfield) with her grown up children (born Metfield & Cratfield) with her father, Symond Godbold (aged 98!!)

In 1841 - he's living next door to her and he's Simon Godbould

In 1853Q4 there's a death for Simon Godbold in Blything Reg district

After more digging I've found a probable marriage for Simon Goldbold to Mary Jacob (17th November 1780 in Metfield). This takes me back a further generation.

The connection, however, is circumstantial - how likely do you think it is that Mary Bullock is Rebecca Godbold's sister??

***Can you tell I'm itching to add them to my tree?? ;)

Did Rebecca have a son called Simon?

That's a sticking point that worries me a bit, Kate. :(

BUT - maybe Simon was just the male line? *hopeful icon*

Could just be that Godbold was a local name, though. I'm pretty sure it is a Suffolk name.

I think it is, Kate. But that doesn't stop me from hoping ;)

They were both born in Metfield within 2 years of each other. They both had children christened in Metfield and in Cratfield.

That's where the proven resemblances stop for the moment though. :(
