I've never properly looked for records in Wales. The To4gg this week is asking for William Powell's father.
William Powell was born in Radnor Staler in 1793 according to census.

Where do I go from here?

You look a bit harder at the 1851 census page and discover that "Staler" actually says "Wales".

You then give up :)

Actualls no, it says Radnor, Radnor, Wales, so presumably he was b in the town of Radnor. I wonder how many Wm Powell baps there would be?

There are Welsh records on Ancestry and FMP, but I've not looked at them lately.

No matches on FMP and marriages only on Ancestry by the look of it.

His army papers on FMP say he was born in the parish of New Radnor. I suppose the best thing to do is wait until FMP upload the Radnorshire parish registers.

pmsl....:d:d oh dear.... That's been on my FTM for years, and I never looked at it again.

Hmmm - thanks for looking, Merry & Kate.

I'll have to wait on that one then.
