Baptised 20 October 1767, Sharrington, son of William Bangay & Mary nee Mann.

Married Elizabeth Coe 9 April 1795, Saxlingham, Norfolk.

He lived in Brinton upon his marriage, moving to Thornage in 1806. The Manns had a business in Thornage, producing firebacks etc.

In 1841 he is Thornage, aged 73, a blacksmith with Robert Milbourne, a labourer aged 17.

In 1851 he is in Thornage, aged 85, a widowed pauper, formerly a blacksmith born Sharrington, with his sister Mary aged 83

Died 1856.

Richard's burial was 22nd June 1856, in Thornage. He didn't get Augustus Dashwood, the rector, but a mere officiating minister. He was 91 per the burial entry.

When the banns were called in Saxlingham, 15 -29 March 1795, Richard is of the parish of Great Thornage, single man.

Witnesses to the marriage were Juby Thompson & Wm Bangey. Witnesses signed, but Richard made his mark.
