I wish I had family from there - or even that OH did!! It looks like a fantastic resource.
Great site. Me too, Sarah, wish it could take me to my family!
I can't read a lot of french but worked out where to put in a name, I think.
I'm not getting any results for those I suspected were of french origin.
oh well. It would have been too easy to find them, and too hard to read the records. lol
It only covers a little patch of North East France, Kit. Don't despair!

This area was the first place I ever went to abroad! (Apart from Ireland - Eire).
I had a French penfriend in Auxi-le-Château and I went there for the first time when I was just 12 years old. I remember going to Amiens for the first time, and spending time at her aunt's house at Le Touquet.
I put her surname in the search box but only got 3 results. I got just 4 hits for the town itself.

Thanks for that. I did french in school but not having used it since I have lost a lot. Luckily I still have my french dictionary in case the website gets more records. lol
There are 27 administrative regions in France. The website has been set up by ONE of them - for their own records.
I guess others have been, or will be, set up by the other regions.
