I've lost Phoebe Melhuish

According to FreeBMD, she was born Caistor 1877 and died Caistor 1893.

I have her (no idea where I got it) as the daughter of William Frederick melhuish and Elizabeth Diamond Squires.

They had several children bewteen 1866 and 1885. I can't find any of them in 1881 but 1891 they are in Clee, Grimsby Lincs.

It seems odd that Phoebe would be still in Caistor aged 13, but maybe she was working. No idea when the family moved to Grimsby as I an't find them in 1881.

The youngest son, William was born in Sheffield according to 1891.

Sorry, I'm not clear whether you've found her in 1891 or not? You say she was in Caistor age 13, is that from the 1891 census or if not, where from?

Sorry Kite. Have only found her birth 1877 and death (aged 15) 1893 on FreeBMD.

Haven't found her on any census.

In 1891 ancestry have her as Phobe Mallmsh and she is age 13 a servant in Clee with Weelsby. The page is quite faint. I'll put in a correction for her name.

And Clee with Weelsby was in Caistor district.

On ancestry but I presume it is the FamilySearch transcription. The name is down as Melluish, not Melhuish.

Indeed, and if you do the search with correct spelling on FS her entry still comes up regardless of the spelling error. (I often use FS for the 1881 census if i can't find someone instantly on Ancestry etc. The 1881 seems to have a greater use of odd abreviations for forenames, often with a full stop after, which sometimes foxes Ancestry search!)
