This will include crew members from all over the world, not just Dorset, which is just where the boats were registered, so definitely worth having a look if you have sailors in your family.

Oh, and it was indexed by the World Archive Project volunteers, so the index is free to everyone (unfortunately birthplace isn't shown on the index, you have to look at the image which isn't free.)

I've found a way to search on birthplace, at least - type it in the "Keywords" field.

I'm glad to say that birthplace is now being shown when you hover your cursor over "View Record" and when you actually click to view a record, not just when you view the image. (That is, when birthplace was available on the original form.)
