Oooh, I've finally found something to show that my great-grandfather's death was registered! It only has his initials and surname instead of full name, but is definitely him. A lot of information, including rank, age, home address, date and place of death. Definitely worth a look if you have someone in your tree who died at sea.

The news shows it as "Titanic records" because of the Titanic anniversary - surely they realise that anyone who had a relative on the Titanic will already know about them? But in fact most of the new records are nothing whatsoever to do with the Titanic.

Thanks Kate. I didn't read that piece of news solely as I don't know of any titanic relatives for either OH or myself. Shoes I'll have to read the whole item.
