Not really a question, just a tip in case there's anyone else who didn't know, like me - you can use wildcards when searching on FamilySearch.
? = one unknown letter
* = any number of letters

This has just helped me figure out my 2xg-grandmother's surname as typing in what I thought was written came up with nothing helpful. It looked like Schlagentroeith but only when I typed in Schlagent* did I find out it should be Schlagentweith. I should really have remembered that the way they used to write a "w" it could often look like "ro". (I should add that I didn't find her, only what her surname should be!)

Thankyou for that tip KR - it could be very useful - I'm off to try it out.

I didn't know you could do that!

Is it also possible to do an exact search then?

Yes, just tick the box for "Match all exactly", or tick the boxes for whichever field(s) you want exact matching for.
