A new cousin has sent me some photos, but has asked if i can identify anyone in the group photo, which i can`t. BUT... am hopeing you can advise.

on the back it says "Golden wedding anniversary April 2nd 1946" the only wedding in 1896 was for Hannah Elizabeth Fletcher (1874) to John Brooks, so i think it could be thiers.

My new cousins ancestor is Martha Lillian Fletcher (1881)

Martha with husband Herbert Valentine Winfield

Martha in 1941.

My connection to these sisters is Gertrude Fletcher (1879) who is my avatar.

What i`m asking help with, is of the 2 older couples on the group photo, which do you think could be Martha and Herbert?

I would think the guests of honour would be seated Sylvia.

There are a couple trees on Ancestry with a Frances Louise Fletcher who is said to have married Thomas Scott Saxelby on 2 April 1896 in Queensland. One has her born Dec. 1877 in Worcestershire, the other 21 Oct. 1878 in Shropshire. Both say she died 1950 in Gympie, Qld.

But I don't see your Hannah Elizabeth or Martha Lillian anywhere in those trees.

Where did you expect this wedding was held, Sylvia? Or don't you know?

Hi Janet

Thank you for looking, i know they where married at the Bourne Chapel Derby England, it was a primitive methodist service

Do you think the older couple on the left of the group are the same couple in the photo below ?

Might be! Martha is very smiley and so is the lady at the back left of the first photo. Very unscientific analysis, but that's what I noticed!

The older couple standing on the left of your group photo could be the same as the couple in the other photo. He seems to have the same nose. Problem is both photos are quite small so I am squinting to see them at the moment.

I suppose one way would be to buy Hannah and John's marriage certificate to see if it is 2nd April?

It's very pixellated but I'd have said the woman standing is not Martha.

Thank you for looking Tom, i proberbly will end up getting the marriage certs for both sisters, of the 3 sisters, Hannah`s was 2nd Q 1896, Gertrudes (my grandmother) 5 Apr 1903 and Martha 3rd Q 1910, so it points to it being Hannah`s golden wedding anniversary.

I also thought the lady in the center of the group photo looked the older of the 2 sisters, with Hannah born 1874 and Martha 1881, i am also thinking its the hair style thats confusing indentification.

Thank you for blowing it up Rachel, another cousin has sent this photo of the 3 sisters and "thinks, but not sure" martha is in the middle, i know Gertrude is on the left, again the lady in the middle looks older to me. Don`t you just love the clothes.

Make sure your Photobucket size option is at the maximum 1 MB (free account) otherwise it will re-size them smaller
