I've just realised I only have Chew Magna bap records from 1781 so it probably wasn't their first child who was born in 1783.

Yes, I thought that. I have seen the name transcribed as Farmer in several places, but I don't know if they all have the same source (other than the PR!). That doesn't sound right - you know what I mean! lol (I've only just woken up! :o). Just one version of the marriage so far.....I willl have to see if I can access the original records.
