I've been trying to find this marriage in LincstothePast, to no avail:

Parish Record Collection - Marriage Record
Day: 19
Month: Mar
Year: 1728
Groom Forename(s): William
Groom Surname: Dawson
Bride Forename(s): Letticia
Bride Surname: Morris
Parish: Bloxholm
Deanery: Lafford
County: Lincolnshire
Notes: WD Walcott/ LM Hanworth/ (Gulielmus & Anna)
Record source: Lincolnshire Marriage Index
Data provider: Lincolnshire Family History Society

WD means that William Dawson came from Walcott
and
LM means that Letticia Morris came from Hanworth (Potter Hanworth??)

I just can't find this entry, though some of the writing is very faded.

If anyone could locate it I'd be dead chuffed! They are OH's 5x great-grandparents.

I've had something of a breakthrough, as the first child I had for them was born in Threckingham, where they lived later and where William and Leticia were buried. William made a will, so I knew the surviving children.

I have now found earlier children baptised in Billinghay in 1735. The next one was baptised in Threckingham in 1737. The vicar in Billinghay kindly gave Leticia's name.

Just a note to say it should be around image 6 of the register.

I think I've found it now -

left-hand page
just under half-way down

Can anyone read it, please (should confirm the entry given, but who knows!)?

Yes, there is an extremely faded bit halfway down the right-hand page on image 6 which is where it must be - definitely says Nupt on the left hand side and Mar on the right hand side and there is a Gulielmus in there but I'm afraid I can't read all the words to check if the info you have from the transcription is right.

It's on the right-hand page, Elizabeth, not the left, isn't it?

I can see "Letticia Morris" quite clearly.

I think it says "de Hanworth" for her, and above "de Walcott" for him.

It's the stupid writing that gets in the way. I understand why they have it, for copyright, but it makes life difficult.

Sorry, brain is getting tired. I meant to type right!

I think it definitely says
Gulielmus Dawson de Walcott & Letticia Morris de Hanworth

If it's any use I may be able to get to Sleaford Library if they hold a copy of the PR's on fiche there?

Thanks, Joanie, it's great to have someone else's eyes confirming it.

Don't worry about the trip to Sleaford Library - I think I have confirmed what I wanted now. I think they married there because Leticia was pregnant with her first child.

Thanks, JayG too! It's lovely to see the entry. It's one of OH's earliest families I have traced.

Off to bed now! Many thanks.
