both were single, of the parish of Hindringham and both signed their mark. Witnesses: William Long, John Vine

baptism of children in Sculthorpe, North Norfolk:

Mark Barnes born 8 May 1786, baptised publicly 14 May 1776
Mary Barnes born sep 6, 1790 baptised privately 9 Sep 1790 and received into the church before Feb 1791.

baptism of child at St. Martin at Hindringham
19 Apr 1793, John, son of John Barnes & Martha, late Billing

death, burial unknown

No I hadn't!

I see they were married "by bands" in the "prahish" of Hindringham, so not sure the transcription is all it could be - but a great start to investigate further. I'll see if the original is on familysearch - it might give the witnesses.

Familysearch gives date as 30 Aug 1784

Just going through the images now, found Barnes back in 1740s - another parish to add to my research.

The actual image in the Archdeacon's Transcripts does say "by bands". Wedding bands, presumably!
