I was looking for Charlie Johnson and his wife Maggie/Margret nee Berry, my grandfather's sister. Family lore has it that they might have died in Manchester in the bombing, but there are an awful lot of Johnsons.
Anyway I jumped to search in the Manchester Police Index 1812-1941 and found only one hit for a Charlie Johnson on there:
Search criteria used:
First name(s): Charlie (including variants)
Last name: Johnson
Year of event: 1935 +/- 20 years
Results:
1 record found.
Last name First name(s) Year of event Place County
JOHNSON Charles Leigh 1927 Warrington Lancashire
I don't think this is the Charlie I'm after, but I'm curious because the general area is right. Can anyone with FMP possibly see what it is?
