I believe he remarries in 1854 in Nottingham to Eliza Kelsall Jun qtr 7b 288

Can't see them in 1861

1871 Eliza seems to be a widow

I haven't found them yet, but there is a possible death for Joseph Apr-Jun 1865 Nottingham (surname Sherratt on GRO index).

I focussed more on looking for his son, Andrew abt 18, as I could see he lived until the 1870s. I couldn't find him though :o

Could be, except that one is a widower and the one I'm looking for remarried in 1854 and his wife is still alive in 1871.

I haven't looked for Andrew yet, have only searched for Joseph.

It's to do with a contact on GR who thinks he has the same family as mine. I'm not so sure.

I looked for Andrew presuming this was his death:

Deaths Dec 1876
SHERRATT Andrew 33 Nottingham 7b 161

But there's an Andrew in Notts in 1871 who is the right age but born in Leicestershire, so not sure now.

The right Andrew was born in Spondon in Derbyshire

Received a copy of marriage cert from contact.

What does this say for fathers name?

I know what I think it says but would like opinions.

Aaron Sherratt decd.

I agree with Kate.

I also agree that the two places of birth for Andrew are not near each other, but at the moment I can only find one birth, one bap, one marriage, one death and one person on each census, except for the census where Andrew is missing. Also there's some alteration to the places of birth in the 1851 - Ann Sherratt (listed immediately above Andrew) has been changed from Spondon to Makefield. Maybe they should have changed Andrew too?

Do we have to forget Andrew now?

Aaron Sherratt decd.

Yes, I agree. The contact I have who sent it to me said it was illegible but I thought it was obvious so wanted a second opinion.

I think you are right Merry. I wonder where they are in 1861, very frustrating.

Perhaps just missed or on a missing page?

Who is the groom on that marriage cert?

Joseph, Andrews father. It's the second marriage to Eliza Kelsall.

Yes that's right. We did this years ago at Stafford Record Office. I have a huge Sharratt and it's variants tree. Was just making sure this new contact was part of it and he is. OH's side and loads of contacts on it in the last couple of months, he has cousins coming from all directions and it's making my head spin.:D:D:D
