The second person is Rebecca. The transcription says Kirly but I'm not sure.

Can someone have a look and give an opinion? Thanks

Assuming I have the correct page as I can't get to it through the 'Oz' link, I think it's KING with a line on the 'n'.

The 'n' looks like the one in KNEE above it & the 'g' looks like the ones in HIGGINS further down the page.

Sorry, I don't have the right sub for that.

UK sub (http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec?htx=view&r=5544&dbid=8978&iid=WILCHO107_1185_1186-0334&fn=Rebecca&ln=Kirly&st=d&ssrc=&pid=16085834)

That's strange Merry. I've always been able to see things regrdless of whether I use .co.uk or .com.au or .com as long as my sub gave me access to the record.

Thanks Glen. I think it says King too, but I didn't want to influence anyone by saying so.

I can't access it through au site even though I have worldwide membership but then I have to change to .com to access worldwide can't access them through uk.co

I assume Rebecca is the wife of James above...

Rebecca's surname looks like King to me. And James's surname is Knee. Rebecca isn't James's wife as there is a line between them to show the people after the line aren't part of the same "nuclear family". (I know they didn't use that term in those days but not sure what they would have said instead!)

Is "household" the word you were looking for?

Not exactly because there is sometimes one of those lines separating nephews and nieces, grandchildren etc from the main family and I would think they were in the same household.

Although it's quite common for different bits of a family to be occupying different bits of a house.

Thanks for looking everyone.

Rebecca is a servant and James Knee is a miller. I assume she either works for him, or is renting a room.
