I think you choose whether or not to have email notification, and the default is to have it. Probably the easiest way to find the thread is to look in your browser's history, but shout if that doesn't work and I'll see what other ways there are.

thank you muchly Kate! I found it in my history and clicked on the 'my alerts' so I shouldn't lose it again.

Thankfully OH doesn't use Mozilla as he always puts history to one day only as he thinks it saves space. We've only got 216 GB left lol.
