My daughter and her husband purchased an old bible at a charity shop.

It has an inscription in it (I can't upload it to Photobucket because it is an Adobe file)

It says:

Percy Morgan and
Matilda Eleanor Collyer

then a word which looks like "Mountain" or "M o n a t a i c e" on the next line, centred

Married April 18, 1894

with best wishes and affectionate regards
from Rev Edwd J Stevens
Sibford Gower Vicarage

We can't find a record of this marriage, and it doesn't say that they actually got married there.

Rev. Edward Stevens was vicar at Sibford Gower until 1898.

Can anyone help solve this mystery, please?

Can't you press "PRNT SCRN" while the PDF file is displayed on your screen and then paste the screen image into Microsoft Paint (or similar) and crop it then save and use that for Photobucket?

KiteRunner, not quite sure how to do that!
I have "PrtScnSysRq" in top hand right corner, but it doesn't seem to do anything when I press it.

If you press PrtScnSysRq it saves a copy in the clipboard. You then need to paste this image into a graphics program ie Paint.

I wonder if the word is "Mountain"?

Thanks, yes, I have found them Wendy. I have managed to make quite a decent history now I was able to decipher that his surname was Mountain and not Morgan!

The page made it look as though Percy Morgan married Matilda Eleanor Collyer.
