Is it Chelsea Pensioner ?

Yes, it's Chelsea Pensioner, but Chelsea is spelt wrong.

Thanks, Kite - I'd assumed it couln't be as he was in Sheffield, but have been Googling, and it seems you didn't have to be resident at the Royal Hospital in order to be a Chelsea Pensioner. - This is very interesting - http://wapedia.mobi/en/Chelsea_pensioner

No Muggins you didn't have to live at the hospital to receive a pension.

My gt x 2 grandfather was a pensioner, although he was only in the army for about ayear before having to leave as he had been blinded in one eye by infection. It says on one census that he was a pensioner and its also put on his death cert. I got his records from Kew - 3 A3 pages about his condition, treatment, how much he received etc.
