Death of John Plowright Pond

I'm trying to find the death of John Plowright Pond. The last sighting I have of him is this one:

I have found this death, which is at St George Hanover Square, where he was living in 1861.

Pond John 66 St. Geo. H. Sq. 1a 351

However I can't find him in 1871.

He was born on 28th September 1812.

Is there any evidence around to suggest that the above death is the correct on?

1871 He isn't in John St, SGHS - checked all residences.
