My 3x great grandmother Eleanor Walker married Charles Lett of Seafield and Tincurry, County Wexford in Ireland.
A 1994 book "The Family Face" by Michael J.H. Leete has a lot of information on the Lett family, but the only snippet on Eleanor says that she was the daughter of Phillip Walker of Clonard. I have found Clonard House just outside Wexford and it is advertised as a Georgian mansion now a B & B. I am hoping that there may be some information of Clonard House that will give me some leads on the Walker family.
I have tried googling Clonard House but have not had any success with it's history. I am wondering if anyone can suggest where would be the best place to look, apart from going to Ireland:D.. Thanks.

Thanks An - yes that is the place - I hope a visit next year lol Possibly Phillip Walker owned the property before the mansion was built.
Thanks Kate, yes I will contact them and hope they may have some info.

Well, if you're going to Wexford, I'd be tempted to come across and meet you there. One of my most favourite places in the world.

An that would be wonderful. I haven't spent a lot of time there, but met some extremely kind people last time. The bus driver who brought us in from Rosslare, pulled up at a garage to find where our b & b was located (much to the confusion of the locals who wondered where he was disappearing to lol). Then next day, the b & b proprietor drove us back to Rosslare to arrange car hire. I hope to go back next year, so I'll let you know.
