Last week I was looking for a death on Ancestry and I found the following..
' Register of Death. Stepney Union - Bromley Workhouse:- 24 Feb 1889. James Lammas age 83, from Limehouse Parish, buried in Ilford'

I did not print it off as I was too busy and just made notes, and today I cannot find it anywhere!

I have been at it most of the day and have tried allsorts but I am beginning to think I just made it up!:d

Would anyone have time to see if it's all a dream!

Thank you

He's there, but transcribed as James Sammas.

When you have the exact date, you can just search for that date and leave one or both names blank.

Yes, that's what I did too.

I didn't know that. Thanks Lal for posting the thread and to Merry and Mary for the info.

Good Morning!

I didn't know that either... and I've only been doing this for seven years!

It's funny how you can get stuck into one way of doing things.

Note to self: Think outside the box!

Thank you all.

That should probably be rule no. 1 in genealogy :)
