Her name seems to be Mary Carter on everything, Babs, not Mary Ann? Only on Loveday's baptism it has her name as Ann on one line and Mary on the other; I would think Ann is just a mistake.

Places where she lived - she was "of this parish" on the marriage at Castle Rising. Then children are baptised at Grimstone and then one (Robert) in Little Massingham in 1809.

If she got married in 1785, those would be too young, wouldn't they?

She may well have been baptised at Castle Rising itself, but the PR's aren't on FamilySearch and the AT's have a lot of years missing around the time she would have been born.

Now theres a thought Kate , never thought of her as being to young till you said , I know I just usually work back from 1st child 20 yrs and I know some where married at abt 15 as well ;;Im still learning about the 1700's its dam hard
So do you not think she could have been a 14 yr old bridae ??

Unlikely.

If only we could find her burial it would give us her age at death, though of course those aren't always accurate.

I know I have been looking you would have thought Docking meant to go back and see if I could find Ann instead

There's a marriage at Docking 1st Jun 1815 between John Howard, of this parish, widower, and Mary Pentney, of this parish, widow. Witnesses J Parker and Ann Bailey.

Then a burial for Mary Howard, also at Docking, 25 Sep 1847, abode Docking, age 84. Which would mean she was born around 1763.

We should be able to find her on the 1841 census now... off to look...

Found her in 1841 but it doesn't help much except at least now we know she was definitely born in Norfolk. Also she had a house to herself, so I guess she had some money. Maybe there will be a will to find somewhere!

Docking:
Mary Howard 70 Widow (crossed out) Y.

John Howard burial at Docking May 19th 1841, abode Docking, age 72. But I can't see a will on NOAH.
