I wonder if someone would have a look for Benjamin Bryant in the 1851 Census. I have been unable to find him.
I can find him in the 1841 Census Piece HO107/143/11 Place Penwith - Cornwall - Civil Parish Perran Uthnoe - Folio 21 - Page 10 - Address Goldsithney.
Alexander Briant M 65 Miner Copper Cornwall, Grace Briant F 60 Cornwall,
Briant Benjamin M 20 Miner Copper Cornwall.
Alexander died later in the year and Grace in 1850.
He is not with any of his brothers or sisters who I have found.
The family name had variations of Bryan/Briant/Bryant.
According family research Benjamin emigrated to Victoria in 1854 they thought on the Croesus arriving in April 1854 and was at Ballarat when the Eureka riot took place. He married in Vic in 1857.

Thanks Val. I think either the Census didn't survive or it has been hopelessly mistranscribed. Thanks for looking. It was because of him that 11 of the children of his brother Joseph (including by greatgrandfather Benjamin) came to Australia. He married Sarah Kent and had three children, but only one Frederick George, born 1858 survived, but I'm not sure what happened to him. One of these days I'll go looking properly, but I'm not sure what State he would have lived in. Benjamin Senior, his wife Sarah nee Kent and two of their young children are buried in the old cemetery at Ballarat, Vic.
