I've found a possible baptism for OH's 4x Gt grandmother, Anne Skellington in Burton Joyce, Nottinghamshire in 1741. Do you think she might be the one who married in Little Ponton, Lincolnshire in 1771?

I'm not at all sure of the geography of that area :o

Well, Burton Joyce is a few miles from Nottingham, and Little Ponton is a few miles from Grantham, about 20 miles apart I would say from looking at the map.

Thanks Kite. I've just had a look at the image for her marriage and the Rector kindly informs me that she was 27 yrs old! Which gives a possible birth date of abt 1744 and guess what - there's another possible baptism in Edwalton for 1743! Which I believe is also about 20 miles from Little Ponton. More digging to be done, I think!

Hmmm, looks like the Edwalton Ann married in Edwalton in 1760. Which favours the Burton Joyce baptism.

Apologies for thinking out loud:d

Looking at both places on google maps, see if there's a fairly straight route. I've found my ancestors who moved about often just went up the main road and stopped where they found work.
