On the Family Search site I can find this:

https://www.familysearch.org/search/recordDetails/show?uri=https://api.familysearch.org/records/pal:/MM9.1.r/MQK3-GG4/p_126856067

This is Sylvester Dow, born c. 1852.

Does anyone have greater access to this? I'd like to know who he is living with on this census, if possible.

By a bit of craftiness I have searched the surname Dow for New Hampshire and clicked on the entries. You can compare the family number etc for the entries viewed with the lad I already had. That way I found

Joseph Dow 41
Abigail C Dow 44
Gilbert F Dow 19
Mary P Dow 4

in addition to Sylvester.
I can't see the family relationships though.

The 1860 census does not state relationships.

Elizabeth, you saw that somebody from California and somebody else from Arkansas both have trees on mundia with Sylvester J. Dow 1852-1891? (Born: Canterbury, Merrimack, New Hampshire, USA; Lived in: Canterbury, Merrimack, New Hampshire, United States; Died: Bow, Merrimack, New Hampshire, USA.)

They both have very large trees, which I've learned to be wary of. If you're clueless about the relationships this might help get you started; but if it's hard sources you're looking for, might not help you.

The smaller tree quotes only the 1860 census as source. The larger one also quotes the California Death Index.

Janet, thanks for that. I'm in touch with direct descendants of Sylvester Dow because he married the niece of my 4x gt grandfather.

There is a website with information on, but I'm trying to verify with census forms etc where possible. The people are lovely and have many photos etc. I'm sure somone in the family has researched censuses etc. It's a joint collaboration.

I think I registered with Mundia a while ago. I'll have to see if I can remember my password etc!

My user name and password on mundia are the same as on ancestry. I still haven't started a sub yet, so I don't know if it's different if you do have a sub, but I expect it's the same. You might want to just try.
