I'm trying to establish what happened to Arthur Alexander, the son of Samuel and Mary Amelia Alexander.

In 1911 he is with them at Moss Side:
1911 Census
RG14PN23700 RG78PN1377 RD464 SD1
280 Great Western Street, Moss Side, Manchester
Arthur Son 23 Single Salesman Trimming Dept Worker Withington Lancashire

I have a possible marriage for him to Ethel Langley:
Civil Registration event: Marriage
MarriageFinder: Arthur Alexander married Ethel Langley
Name: ALEXANDER, Arthur
Registration District: Chorlton
County: Lancashire
Year of Registration: 1916
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
Spouse's last name: Langley
Volume No: 8C
Page No: 1528
Name: LANGLEY, Ethel
Registration District: Chorlton
County: Lancashire
Year of Registration: 1916
Month of Quarter: Jul-Aug-Sep
Volume No: 8C
Page No: 1528

I can't find any children for this marriage.

I have tried searching the TNA and other military records for him but can't find out much as there so many Arthurs. There is a possible death in 1919 but I don't know if he joined up and if so what service.

It seems he died on 1st August 1919 in Mesopotamia. There is an entry in the probate registry for him giving the same address as you have on the 1911. Administration to his widow Ethel. He was a corporal (acting sergeant) in 6th Bat. Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Jackie, thank you so much. How sad.

I don't have Ancestry at present, so any details would be welcome.

I can download the information from the TNA once I establish for sure that it is the correct Arthur Alexander.
