I have a marriage between William Collins and Emma Tanner (previously Moss) at St Mark, Old St, Holborn on 24 Jul 1887. For some reason I have forgotten to note the groom's occupation and wondered if sks could check it for me as my Ancestry sub has expired. Also the names of the witnesses if it's not too much trouble (I must have been having a bad day when I found this!!)
Many thanks

Hi Sue
Just checked for you. Emma's name has been mistranscribed as Farmers. He was 59, Widower, Labourer. She was 64, Widow. Witnesses were G or S (cannot decide which it should be) Bound and E Bulford. Unfortunately the witnesses only used initials for their names.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for taking the trouble Pat. One of the witnesses might be one of Emma's nieces or nephews - surname Bown (but some of them changed it to Bound probably because it was always misspelled that way!)
Off now to try and find William and Emma in a later census....
