Sorry, I originally put this on General before I realised!! :o

I have this family in 1901:-

KENNEDY, Noble M Head Married M 48 1853 Bricklayer, Lancaster, Lancashire
KENNEDY, Elizabeth Wife Married F 46 1855 Barnsley, Yorkshire
KENNEDY, Minnie Daughter Single F 20 1881 Dressmaker Salford,Lancashire
KENNEDY, Louisa M Daughter Single F 18 1883 Mantle Machinist Salford
KENNEDY, William Son M 17 1884 Bricklayer Salford
KENNEDY, Harold Son M 15 1886 Iron Moulder Salford
KENNEDY, Dorothy Daughter F 8 1893 Salford
KENNEDY, George Son M 4 1897 Salford Lancashire

I found Elizabeth with the 2 youngest children in 1911. It said she was married (36 years) but Noble is not with her. I found his death in 1920 but cannot find him in 1911. Is there anywhere else I can search for him. I only have FMP.

Thanks in advance.

All the other 1911 indexes at the moment are the same as FMP's, except for The Genealogist - I don't know which counties they have so far as you can only search on there if you have a sub. Ancestry has only indexed the householders so far and they hardly ever have a first name listed, usually just Mr, Mrs or Miss and sometimes an initial.

Lynne, do you have him in 1861 or 1871?

I can't see him on fmp for those years. I note his middle name is Mark, but that doesn't seem to be helping.

Yep, I spotted that after I'd posted, Elizabeth, but I still can't locate him in 1871.

One thing about bricklayers is that they may move where work is. Is it possible that there was some major overseas project he took part in?

okay, it looks as if he is Alfred in 1871!

Aged 18, brothers John 16, Fred 14.

In 1861 Noble aged 8, Roger J aged 5 & George F aged 3.
