Could somebody kindly check a couple of entries in the NPC on Ancestry for me?

I'm interested in Emily Elizabeth Gibbon who died in Staunton, Gloucestershire in 1870. I should like to know if she made a will, or if it's just an admon.

Also her father Alexander Gibbon, same place and year; I know from other sources that his was an admon, but I'm interested to know whether there was a will annexed.

Oh, just seen the 1881 date. It looked as though there were two entries for Alexander on Ancestry (my sub's run out, so I can't look at the image); presumably the first one was the admon to his niece Maria Beaumont.

Oh, I'll take another look

yes, I missed that

6 March 1871 Administration of the effects of Alexander Gibbon late of the parish of Staunton in the county of Gloucester Esquire a widower who died 17 November 1870 at Staunton was granted at Gloucester to Maria Catherine Beaumont of 15 Richmond Terrace in the parish of Clifton in the city of Bristol Spinster the niece and one of the persons entitled in distribution

Written across it is Administration of goods unadministered was passed at the Principal Registry May 1881

Looks like she claimed the £30,000 but not the £1500

Do you want Maria Catherine Beaumont's as well?

That'd be interesting if you have time, thanks. I'm only directly related to Emily and her mother, not to Maria, but I'm curious to know who eventually inherited. I expected the estate to be a lot bigger, though - Alexander was trustee to the Bowes-Lyon family, and supposed to be pretty well off.

Oh yes, just seen your previous message, so it was a large estate, then. Lucky old Maria :)

Looks like she shared it though as it said she was one of the persons entitled in distribution.
