Am I looking at the right place, Elizabeth? Between Blackburn and Burnley? I just found a bunch of Hindles for Sally in my Craven Indexes but I think your people may be a bit too far afield to turn up there.

Janet, that's the right place, just outside Accrington. I don't know it at all up there. My Esther Hindle married Samuel Porritt. She died and he ended up in Manchester, but I don't know whether she died at Church Kirk or in Manchester.

I doubt there is a connection with the Craven Hindles, but you never know!

Also there's an Esther Hindle on the same tree born 19 Aug 1809 Church Lancashire England. Caveat emptor, but it might point you in interesting directions.
