I have no experience of Scotland's People so if what I'm about to ask means using credits or costing money please ignore the request. However if anyone has a sub.....:)

I'm looking for Minnie Braid b 1875 Essex. She's married to James Braid, probably Professional Golfer b abt 1870 Earlsferry, Fife. If they are there I'd like to know the names of any children.

Many thanks

I've got two James Braid coming up between the ages 35-45 in Fife. Didn't put Minnie in as second person because it's a nickname nothing came up.

To view them it's a one credit but it won't tell you much more than we already have to see the census it's 5 credits on top of that.

The SP site isn't very kind when it comes to the any of the Census. It doesn't ask for birth place or anything like that it's just name, place/county they might be and age range and any name that might be with them.

If you could give Minnie's birth name rather than a nick name perhaps.

You can't do speculative searches on SP unfortunately.

Her birth name was Minnie!

And apologies - I've just found them in Croydon:o. She gave the wrong dob so I've only found them by omitting that:(.

Thanks for looking, Maggie

Just looked again and it's not them in Croydon - this is becoming very embarrassing. I'll keep looking for now:rolleyes:

There are no subs on Scotland's People, only credits. But you can search for free anyway, you only have to pay to view the results and the images.

Thanks Kite - I thought that might be the case - I don't want to spend pennies on this so I definitely don't want anyone else to!!
Thank you both

OOh Merry, thankyou. I never thought to look for her under her middle name! And fancy that - she's employing her neice as a maid.
James was the Tiger Woods of his day (so OH tells me anyway) and was probably off playing golf somewhere....

Missing a closing parenthesis in your last link, Sue.
Let's see if this one works.
Yup, that one seems to go to the right place. :)
