I don't know if anyone has posted this but I have only just seen these.

Of course I might be a bit behind the times with the new databases and they could have been there ages. It does say new on them.

UK, Military Campaign Medal and Award Rolls, 1793-1949

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=1686

UK, Naval Medal and Award Rolls, 1793-1972

Some of them quite recent.

Thanks for that, Maggie. They're not coming up on the list of "Recently added or updated collections" but are showing as new in "Featured Records". Mind you, the National Probate Calendar is still showing as new on there! I think these are new, though.

I know I've looked at the medal roll listing for my ancestor before but I think it was on another site, maybe findmypast.

Well I found them by accident to be honest I was looking at the Citations for the DCM for one of my ancestors and instead of just selecting it from the list decided to look through the list of Military databases to see what was actually there because I do find Ancestry a muddle sometimes.

Oh by the way perhaps no one knows that's there either:-

Thanks for that, I've just found medal rolls for my Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Great Great Grandfather. I knew they had these Crimean Medals, but no proof! More info to add to my tree.

I just noticed that my ancestry "shoebox" has lookups from that database that I did for someone last November! Not so new after all!
