I have a John WILEY born 1828, Cayton near Scarborough, Yorkshire.

Have him in 1841 HO107; Piece 1260 Folio: 4; Page: 3
and in 1851 HO107; Piece: 2369; Folio: 55; Page: 4

He marries in 1850 to Adah Metcalf.
Malton reg Sep qtr 24 - 457

They have two children by the time of the 1861 census:

James Metcalf WILEY born 1858 in Wintringham, Yorkshire
and George Wiley born 1859 in Rillington, Yorkshire

Adah was born 1826 in Scampston, Yorkshire.

John was a shepherd in Knapton for the Lovel family in 1861 and 1871 (although 1861 says he was born in Wetwang not Cayton) It does state he was a married man.

Where the heck are Adah and the children in 1861?

I do have her in 1871.RG10; Piece: 4822; Folio: 34; Page: 4

They are there, but I can't see them on Ancestry;

WILES, Adah 1826
WILES, Mary 1852
WILES, George 1860
WILES, James 1858

They should be in Malton District somewhere!
