I'm looking at baptism records for Germany/Prussia in the early 1800s on Family Search. Some of them (sumbitted :o) have occupations recorded and I've coped OK with shoemakers and barbers, but what is a nagelschmidt? Someone who smiths something? But what is a nagel? :D

Merry, it's a nail smith or nail maker.

The usual word is "Nagelschmied".
